Sunlight Business Park

The Sunlight Business Park is an Extension sustainability project in conjunction with the Barrick/Golden Sunlight Mine (GSM) as a way to help mitigate eventual mine closure. A third warehouse building was constructed this past year and is occupied by an international wind development company that will be testing a wind generation system that has an energy storage component. Extension has been involved with the potential mine closure and working on mine legacy planning. Discussions about mine asset reutilization and development has been a key topic about how to maximize the local benefit. Ongoing discussions about a potential concentrator project at the site are moving forward and GSM received corporate authorization to proceed with engineer design and site permit work. Extension has been actively involved and is assisting with a major water infrastructure project that will support the new project.
