Musselshell-Golden Valley

My Extension Story

As a new agent in the family of Extension, this is a great opportunity to introduce myself & let you know where I come from. My name is Jennifer Fosjord & I started this position the end of June, about a month before the fair. Originally growing up outside of Grass Range, Montana on my family’s ranch & being involved in 4-H my entire life, I was excited to be involved in this event! I had the opportunity to get to know many of the youth members in my 4-H program & assist with all the events throughout the week. I graduated in December 2018 from Montana State University with a bachelor’s in agriculture education & a minor in animal science. The last few semesters of my college career were spent living & commuting from the Red Bluff Research Ranch in Norris, Montana. During this time, I was the gardener for the Norris Hot Springs & part of the lambing crew at Red Bluff. Through these experiences and several others, I was preparing for my position as the Extension Agent for Musselshell-Golden Valley Counties. There have been several things that I have learned on the job & from other agents include: don’t be afraid to ask questions, it is important to be present throughout your county, learn and practice saying no, & take time for yourself. I am looking forward to my future in Extension & additional collaboration with my colleagues across the state.
