Hill County 4-H in 2019

The Hill County 4-H Interstate Exchange Group hosted Pima County 4-H from Tucson, Arizona for a week in June 2019. Hill County 4-H members showed the out-of-town 4-H members Havre Beneath the Streets, The Northern Ag Research Center, Mount Otis and the Redding Family-Dino Farm. The 4-H group was also able to do outdoor activities like canoeing, fishing and swimming in a lake. Hill County had one hundred and twenty-eight members enrolled in 4-H in 2019. They were all able to participate in educational events like: beef workshops, sewing workshops, small animal workshops, project day, communications day and take leadership roles in state events. One of the 4-H state ambassadors was Sydney O’Neil, a Hill County 4-H member. Hill County also had four 4-Hers attend State 4-H Congress in July. Two Hill County members were also recognized for hog carcass honors. Sierra Hofland placed second in the light carcass division and Jonathon Schaumloeffel placed fourth in the heavy carcass division.
